Slight decrease in roundwood sales
A total of 2.1 million cubic metres of timber were cut for sale in the 4th quarter of 2013; a decrease of 2 per cent from the corresponding quarter in 2012.

In the 4th quarter of 2013, the aggregated gross value of roundwood sold to the manufacturing industry was NOK 661 million; 4 per cent less than in the corresponding quarter in 2012. According to preliminary calculations, forest owners obtained NOK 315 per cubic metre; a decrease of NOK 6 compared with the 4th quarter of 2012. The average price per cubic metre of pulpwood of spruce and pine decreased by NOK 39 and NOK 36 respectively. In the same period, the average price of saw logs of spruce and pine increased by NOK 9 and NOK 19 respectively.
