Increased roundwood sales and prices
A total of 2.5 million cubic metres of timber were cut for sale in the first quarter of 2014. This is 10 per cent more than in the corresponding quarter of 2013. The average timber price rose by 11 per cent in the same period.

In the first quarter of 2014, the aggregated gross value of roundwood sold to the manufacturing industry was NOK 856 million; 22 per cent more than in the corresponding quarter the previous year. According to preliminary calculations, forest owners obtained NOK 345 per cubic metre; an increase of NOK 35 compared with the first quarter of 2013.
In the same period, the average price per cubic metre of pulpwood of spruce and pine decreased by NOK 11 and the average price of saw logs of spruce and pine increased by NOK 61.
