More timber cut despite falling prices
A total of 2.9 million cubic metres of timber were cut for sale in the second quarter of 2016. This is an increase of 8 per cent compared with the corresponding quarter of 2015. In the same period, the average timber price decreased by 5 per cent.

The aggregated gross value of roundwood sold to the manufacturing industry was NOK 937 million in the second quarter of 2016; an increase of NOK 24 million compared with the second quarter of 2015. On average, the forest owners obtained NOK 321 per cubic metre of timber, a decrease of NOK 18.
