Decrease in value added in forestry
In 2008, the value added in forestry is estimated at NOK 4.6 billion; a decrease of 7 per cent from 2007. The aggregated gross value of industrial roundwood totalled NOK 2.9 billion.
In 2008, forestry delivered forest products and services amounting to NOK 6.4 billion. The aggregated gross value of industrial roundwood totalled NOK 2.9 billion. Since the annual logging and natural losses are less than the gross annual increment, the volume of growing stock is increasing. The increase in the growing stock is defined as the net annual increment. In 2008, the value of the increase in growing stock is estimated at NOK 1 billion.
The forestry purchased goods and services from forestry-related service industries for a total of NOK 1 billion in 2008. Services delivered by forest contractors amounted to NOK 950 million, of which logging costs came to NOK 847 million.
Hunting value
The meat value of felled game defined as part of forestry is estimated at NOK 490 million for 2008, of which the meat value of moose hunting is estimated at NOK 300 million. In addition, the value of game outside forestry is estimated at NOK 42 million.
