Decline in total tax income
In the period January - February 2010, total tax income amounted to NOK 112.6 billion. This is a decline of 11.2 per cent or NOK 14.2 billion compared to the same period last year. The decrease is mainly due to a reduction in oil taxes of 39.5 per cent or NOK 13.9 billion.
Excluding the Continental shelf, total tax payments amounted to NOK 90.6 billion, a decline of 0.3 per cent or NOK 300 million compared to 2009. One reason for the decline is a reduction in tax equalisation contribution. Employer contributions to the national insurance scheme also decreased, by 2.7 per cent or NOK 600 million, to NOK 21.8 billion. Member contributions amounted to 11.5 billion, an increase of 2.6 per cent or NOK 300 million compared to 2009.
NOK 14.9 billion to municipalities
Total tax paid to municipalities amounted to NOK 14.9 billion. This is an increase of 3 per cent or 400 million from 2009. Tax payments to county municipalities decreased by 2.2 per cent, to NOK 2.9 billion.
