Wholesale prices down 1.1 per cent
Wholesale prices decreased by 1.1 per cent from the 3rd quarter of 2012 to the 4th quarter of 2012 but are still 1.5 per cent higher than the same quarter last year.
Solid, liquid and gaseous fuels and related products, and food, beverages and tobacco were among the sectors that particularly contributed to the price decline in the last quarter. Here the prices decreased by 3.7 and 1.3 per cent respectively.
Solid, liquid and gaseous fuels account for 16 per cent, while food, beverages and tobacco account for 30 per cent of turnover within the wholesale trade.
The furniture sector had the largest increase in the last quarter, with a 3.9 per cent price rise.
