In the other counties the square metre price for new detached houses was higher than for used detached houses in 2006. The smallest price differences were found in Troms, Rogaland and Akershus.

The county with the largest difference in square metre price was Nord-Trøndelag, where a used detached house cost an average 57 per cent of a new detached house in 2006.

Oslo and Akershus most expensive

Oslo was the most expensive county to build a new detached house in 2006, with an average square metre price of almost NOK 25 000. Oslo was followed by Akershus and Vestfold, with square metre prices of almost NOK 20 000.

Used detached houses were also most expensive in Oslo, at NOK 28 000 per square metre. No other county had an average square meter price above NOK 20 000. Bergen municipality had an average square meter price of NOK 21 841.

In Nord-Trøndelag the average square metre price for used detached houses was NOK 8 768 in 2006.

Uncertain figures for large cities

There are few observations of new detached houses in Oslo, Stavanger, Bergen and Trondheim. In addition, there are large price differences within the largest cities. This makes comparison between the largest cities more uncertain.
