7 in 10 enterprises enable employees to work anywhere
Sixty-nine per cent of enterprises provide their employees with portable devices that allow a mobile connection to the Internet for business use. In 34 per cent of all the enterprises, at least half of all employees have such an offer.
Providing mobile connection to the Internet for business use is more common in large enterprises.
Ninety-four per cent of enterprises with at least 100 employees have such an offer, while 60 per cent of the enterprises with 10-19 persons employed have such an offer.
There are also differences between industries. Over 90 per cent of the enterprises within Information and communication, Financial and insurance activities and Wholesale trade have this offer. In 88 per cent of the enterprises within Information and communication at least 50 per cent of the employees have this opportunity.
Fixed and fast broadband still increase
The share of fixed Internet connections with a transmission capacity of at least 2 Mbit/s increases with the enterprise size. Ninety-three per cent of enterprises with at least 100 persons employed have this transmission capacity. Of all the enterprises 77 per cent have fixed broadband with a transmission capacity of at least 2 Mbit/s.
In the Norwegian industries, the use of mobile broadband has increased rapidly in recent last years.
Fifty-four per cent of all the enterprises have a mobile broadband connection, while 3 per cent have this without any fixed broadband in addition.
Small decrease in electronic data transmission between the enterprises
The share of enterprises that exchanged electronic data with others is 56 per cent, and the differences between big and small enterprises have increased since 2011. The share of enterprises with 10-19 persons employed decreased from 53 to 49 per cent.
Broadband telephony still increasing
The share of enterprises using broadband telephony increased from 12 per cent in 2006 to 23 per cent in 2012.
