More transport of goods in second quarter
The transport performance by Norwegian lorries amounted to 4.5 billion tonne kilometres in the second quarter of 2008, an increase of 16.3 per cent from the first quarter. In the previous five years the growth from the first to the second quarter was on average 3 per cent.
A total of 79.2 million tonnes of goods were carried by Norwegian lorries in this country during the second quarter of 2008, and 472.6 million kilometres were covered. In transports abroad, 1.8 million tonnes were carried and 64 million kilometres were covered.
