Norwegian lorries drove a total of 21.5 million kilometres more than in the 1st quarter of 2014. Of the 542 million kilometres driven, 410 million kilometres were driven with goods. This resulted in an empty driving rate of 24.5 per cent. This was 1.1 percentage points less than in the corresponding quarter in 2014.

In the 1st quarter of 2015, transport performance with Norwegian lorries totalled 5.0 billion tonne-kilometres domestically, and 63.4 million tonnes of goods were transported. For Norwegian-registered lorries in foreign transport, transport performance was almost unchanged, while the amount of goods transported decreased by 21 per cent.

The domestic activity is completely dominant in freight transport by lorries. Transportation to, from and abroad accounted for only about 10.3 per cent of the total transport performance and 1.6 per cent of the total tonnage carried in the 1st quarter this year.
