30 killed and 875 injured in November
A total of 214 people have been killed and 10 136 injured so far this year. Of these 214, 30 were killed in November.
A total of 214 people were killed on Norwegian roads from January to November this year, while the comparative figure for the same period last year was 201 people killed.
A total of 10 136 people were injured in the first eleven months this year, while comparative figure showed 10 655 injured last year. Average figures for the period 2002-2006 show that 236 people were killed and 10 736 injured.
30 killed in November
A total of 628 road traffic accidents were reported to the Norwegian police in November. 30 people were killed and 875 were injured in these accidents. For November last year, comparative figures show that 28 people were killed and 795 injured on Norwegian roads, while the average figures for the period 2002-2006 are 24 fatalities and 855 injuries in November.
Among the 30 people killed in road traffic accidents last month, twenty were drivers of cars, three were car passengers, one was cyclist, five were pedestrians and one other road user.
Police figures
The statistics are based on accidents reported to the police. Less severe accidents and injuries are therefore under-represented in the figures. In addition, the total number of injuries includes casualties where the degree of injury has not been specified. Future figures may prove that there was no injury.
The figures for 2005 that are used for comparative purposes in this text are preliminary. The 2005 figures presented in tables 1-10 are final.
