76 fatalities so far this year
A total of 76 people lost their lives on Norwegian roads in the first six months of 2013. The number of fatalities was one up from last year, but 27 less than the average for the period from January to June over the last ten years.

Of the 76 fatalities so far this year, there were 45 drivers, 10 passengers, 5 motorcyclists, 7 cyclists, 5 pedestrians, 1 moped rider and 3 other road users.
Fewer fatalities in the age group 25-44 years
In the age group 25-44 years, 18 people were killed in the first six months. This is 7 fewer fatalities, or a 28 per cent drop compared to the same period last year. Of the 18 who died, there were 15 drivers. In the first half of this 5-year period from 2008 to 2012, an average of 27 people died in road traffic accidents.
18 fatalities in the June traffic
In June 2013, 18 persons (15 men and 3 women) were killed in road traffic accidents, made up as follows: ten car drivers, four car passengers, two cyclists, one pedestrian and one other road user.
The average for June over the last 10 years is 23 fatalities. In June last year, 11 persons were killed.
