Retail sales increased 1.3 billion

Retail sales increased by NOK 1,3 billion in October this year compared with October 2000, or up 7.3 per cent. Total turnover amounted to NOK 19.1 billion in October this year.

October 2001 includes one trading day more than October 2000. Retail sale is exclusive sales of motor vehicles and petrol, and all amounts are excluded VAT.

The seasonally adjusted volume index of retail sales increased 0.81 per cent in October 2001 compared with September 2001. The volume index not adjusted rose 5.71 per cent in October 2001 compared with October 2000.

The final retail sales value index for October is 0.1 per cent lower than the preliminary index published November 23.
