Foundations worth NOK 96 billion

Norwegian non-financial foundations had a total of NOK 96 billion in assets in 2011 and NOK 84 billion in 2010.

The foundations financed almost two thirds of the assets by equity and one third by debt. This shows that the equity ratio, which was 69 per cent in 2011, was quite high.

 

In the 2011 fiscal year, 2 944 foundations, or two out of five foundations, were non-profit. These foundations had assets totalling NOK 34 billion in 2011 and NOK 33 billion in 2010.
