| Definition | Nationality of shipowner where a distinction is made between Norwegian ownership and non-Norwegian ownership. In the Norwegian International Ship Register (NIS) paragraph 1.1 and 1.2 describe Norwegian owned ships while paragraph 1.3 describes foreign owned ships. In the Norwegian Ship Register (NOR) all ships are considered Norwegian owned. Ownership for ships registered outside of NOR and NIS is determined through Lloyds Marine Intelligence Unit. |
