Name Infield pastureland
Definition Agricultural area that is suitable for grazing, but cannot be mechanically harvested. At least 50 per cent of the area shall be covered by grasses or other plants that stand grazing.

Comments As from 1997 the category infield pastureland became eligible for governmental production subsidies. Before 1997, subsidies for infield pastureland were granted provided that the area was fertilised. This area category was named fertilised pastureland. This change caused that some new land was included in agricultural area. New infield pastureland has to be approved by the local agricultural administration. Within the infield pastureland, wooded areas, bogs, ponds and bare mountain which per unit is greater than 0.1 hectare shall be deducted. Up to 2005, this condition was 0.05 hectare.
