Public APIs

Statistics Norway offer 3 APIs (Application Programming Interface) for users to quickly and easily retrieve and integrate Statistics Norway’s data with their own systems. 

The API with ready-made datasets is the easiest.

The API: Create your own datasets is more advanced, and uses http POST for queries. See:  

HTTP requests are redirected to HTTPS

In accordance with the Regulations on IT standards in public administration §11, HTTP requests are now redirected to HTTPS for data.ssb.no

API users should not need to take any action unless HTTP is deliberately used due to compatibility issues.

Like the rest of ssb.no, the APIs use the license CC BY 4.0.

If tables are structurally changed, replaced by new tables or discontinued, we enter this in Changes to tables in Statbank.
