In absolute numbers this means that 2 755 000 persons were employed, with 1 464 000 men and 1 291 000 women. The year-on-year increase was 42 000 persons. This is outside the margin of error in the Labour Force Survey.
Even if the employment rate is the highest in six years, the level is still low seen in a 30-year perspective. The average of the third quarters for the period 1990-2019 is 68,9 per cent.

Increase in full-time employed women
There has been an increase in both full-time and part-time positions, but we see a difference between men and women. Most of the increase in employment among men has been in part-time positions (16 000 more persons in part-time of a total increase of 23 000 positions), whereas for women the situation is the opposite (3000 more part-time of a total of 19 000 positions). Still, however, many more women than men work part-time, but the difference has diminished somewhat over the last 12 months.
