From parish to municipality Article 4 November
Now almost 200 years of municipal history will be told entirely digitally for the first time. This provides new opportunities for the dissemination of historical statistics. Well supported by Eurostat, Statistics Norway has now mapped the history of Norwegian municipalities through municipality numbers and names. The use of code lists for the exchange of information is today completely fundamental, and Statistics Norway has now made arrangements for machine reading of county and municipal lists from 1838 to the present day.
