1) Trendserier, diffusjonsindekser (se fotnote 2) bortsett fra kapasitetsutnytting; veid gj.sn i prosent, og Sammensatt konjunkturindikator; nettotall (se fotnote 3). 2) En diffusjonsindeks beregnes etter følgende formel: (andel som har svart: større) + 0,5 * (andel som har svart: uendret). I beregningene er det foretatt korreksjoner for frafall. Diffusjonsindeksen har en vendepunktsverdi på 50. En vanlig tolkning av diffusjonsindeksen er at dersom verdien er 50 indikerer dette at om lag like mange venter vekst, som fall for kjennetegnet. En indeks som er større enn 50 - og stigende - tyder på tiltagende vekst, mens en indeks som faller fra en verdi større enn 50 indikerer avtagende vekst. Motsatt for indeksverdier under 50. 3) Nettotall = andelen som svarer større - andelen som svarer mindre.
