Densely populated neighbourhoods are those within urban settlements. Does not include persons who are not located in neighbourhoods. Includes a total of 2,358 persons not located in neighbourhoods per 1 January 2009. Includes a total of 2,052 persons not located in neighbourhoods per 1 January 2012. STN area: The area of activity of the Sami Parliament subsidy schemes for business development (STN). For the years 2007 and earlier: Based on the 2009 definition of the STN area. For 2008-2010 the definition of the area based on the 2011 definition of the STN area. For 2011 and 2012 the definiotion of the area based on the 2012 definition of the STN area. An agglomeration of houses is recorded as an urban settlement if at least 200 persons live there. The distance between houses must not normally exceed 50 metres. Clusters of houses up to a distance of 400 metres from the centre of the urban settlement which naturally belong to the settlement may nonetheless be included.
