The figures for 2nd quarter 2022 were corrected on 05 Oct 2022 From January 1st, 2023, Statistics Norway changed the method for collecting data for the statistics. Data is collected after the end of the month, before 2023 it was collected after the end of the entire quarter. The sample was expanded from 2,000 people per quarter to 2,000 people per month. From February to March 2023, the sample in the survey was expanded from 2,000 to 4,000 people a month. From 2023, the respondents must answer a form online, before 2023 the respondents were interviewed by telephone. Statbank table 08460 contains time series for cross-border trade up to and including 2022. Time series from 2023 are published in table 14044, figures for margin of error are also published here.

Due to too few observations in the 1st quarter of 2021, cross-border trade for this quarter is estimated based on expenditure per trip for previous quarters in combination with data for the number of day trips in the 1st quarter 2021.
