Until 2012, only one investigation per child was reported, and then the first or the one that led to measures. From 2013, all investigations initiated and/or concluded during the year were reported. From 2021 the Child Welfare Services can continue measures until the age of 25 years. Earlier the upper age limit was 23 years. For the statistical year 2023, there are some investigations that are missing information about who reported and reason of notification. This information is from the notification that is the reason why the investigation starts. In connection with the transition to new systems in some municipalities, the relationship between the investigation and the notification has in some cases not been reported to the Child Welfare Register. These are included in the unknown category.
