Now you have come to the page, Choose variable. This page give you the oportunity to select which variables and values you want to display in your result of the table. A variable is a property of a statistical unit. The page is divided into several boxes, one for each variable, where you can select values by click to highlight one or more values. It always starts with the statistics variable which is the main value counted in the table.
Navigating with keyboard and screenreader. Select multiple object in row: SHIFT+arrow down/up. To select a single value in the listbox: Windows:Hold Ctrl + arrow down. Then release Ctrl and press space. Repeat. Mac:CMD+arrow down/up. Then release CMD and press spacebar. Repeat. (Works only in Chrome, not in Safari). To exit listbox with values selected, press TAB-key.

The parents' level of education is a measure of social background. The value is determined by the highest level of education completed by either mother, father or both when the person is 16 years old.

Higher education sector

Higher education sector: Health trusts with university hospital services are not included.

position level

N1 Position level 1

Full professor, docent, chief senior physician, research professor.

N2 Position level 2

Academic director, associate professor, senior lecturer, researcher with a doctoral degree in the higher education sector, senior physician, senior researcher.

N3 Position level 3

University/college lecturer, other tenured personnel, researcher without a doctoral degree, psychologist, physician in specialization.

N4 Recruitment positions

Post.doc., research fellow and research assistant,

parent's level of education

Mother or father has long tertiary education

Long tertiary education is more than four years.

Mother or father has short tertiary education

Short tertiary education is four years or less.
