Higher tyre prices

The subcost index for tyres showed an average increase of 0.7 per cent. The increase was the same for all groups of vehicles. From November last year to November this year the average increase was 1.6 per cent.

The total cost index for road good transport went up 0.1 per cent from October to November. Costs have increased 6.5 per cent over the past year.

Slight decline in diesel prices

The subcost index for fuel showed a decline of 0.1 per cent from October to November. Over the past year the fuel index increased 18.5 per cent. The fuel index is the same for all vehicle groups, but is incorporated with various weights in the individual total cost indices.

Small increase in overhead costs

Overhead costs increased by 0.1 per cent for all vehicle groups from October to November. The increase was mainly due to higher hiring costs.

Growth in capital costs

The capital cost index increased by 0.5 per cent in the last month. The vehicle group long-haul transport increased the most, with 0.6 per cent, while timber transport and construction transport with trailer rose by 0.3 per cent. There has been an increase of 7.4 per cent over the past year. This subcost index consists of depreciation, interest expenses and annual user weight tax and annual tax.

The other subcost indices showed little or no change in the last month.
