Increase in diesel prices

The fuel index increased by 1.5 per cent from January to February. From February 2000 to February 2001, however, the fuel index has decreased by 3.5 per cent.

The total cost index for road goods transport increased by 0.3 per cent the last month. During the last 12 months the increase was 3.4 per cent.

The sub index for ferry transport and toll increased by 1.5 per cent last month. The sub-index for capital costs decreased by 0.3 per cent from January to February. This sub index has increased by 7.1 per cent the last 12 months.

The insurance cost index was unchanged the last month. From February 2000 to February 2001 the increase was 9.1 per cent.

The other sub-indices showed little or no change last month.
