Drop in diesel price

The fuel index decreased by 0.7 per cent from May to June 2001. Since June 2000 this index has decreased by 9.5 per cent.

The total cost index for road goods transport has been unchanged since last month. Since June last year the increase has been 1.1 per cent.

The wage index has increased by 0.2 per cent from May to June this year. Since June 2000 the increase has been 2.5 per cent.

Since June 2000 the index for capital costs has increased by 6.1 per cent. Since May this year this index has increased by 0.4 per cent.

The administration cost index increased by 1.6 per cent from June 2000 to June 2001. Since the previous month this index showed an increase of 0.1 per cent.

The other sub-indices showed little or no change from May to June this year.
