Increased costs for road goods transport
The total cost index for road goods transport increased by 1.1 per cent on average from October to November. The increase was due to rises in diesel prices, wages and administration costs. Over the last 12 months the total costs have increased by 1.2 per cent on average.
The wage index has increased by 2.3 per cent from October to November. Over the last 12 months wages have increased by 5.5 per cent for employees in road goods transport.
Rise in diesel prices
The fuel index has increased by 1.0 per cent from October to November. Over the last 12 months this sub-index has increased by 2.4 per cent. The fuel index is based on actual diesel prices collected from a representative selection of dealers across the country on the 15th of every month.
Increased administration costs
The administration costs increased by 1.2 per cent from October to November. From November 2002 to November 2003 this index has increased by 3.1 per cent.
The other sub-indices show little or no change over the last month.
