Diesel price fall led to lower costs

The fuel index has decreased by 4.2 per cent for the last month. From October 2005 to October 2006 this sub-index has increased by 0.6 per cent.

Cost index for road goods transport, by vehicle group. October 2005 - October 2006

The total cost index for road goods transport has decreased by 0.7 per cent from September 2005 to October 2006. Over the last 12 months the total costs have increased by 2.9 per cent.

Increased administration costs

The administration costs increased by 0.1 from September to October. Over the last 12 months this index has increased by 1.1 per cent.

The other sub-indices show no change over the last month.
