Increase in transport costs
The total cost index for road goods transport increased by 0.5 per cent from November 2006 to December 2006. Over the last 12 months the total costs have increased by 4.2 per cent.
The index for capital costs increased by 3.5 per cent last month, mainly due to an increase in the real interest rate. In the last 12 months, the index, which is composed by depreciation and amortization, interest costs and annual fees, has increased by 8.3 per cent.
Reduced insurance premiums
The insurance cost index fell by 2.0 per cent from November 2006 to December 2006, mainly due to price adjustments by some insurance companies. During the last 12 months this index has fallen by 2.4 per cent.
The other sub-indices show no change over the last month.
