Increase in transport costs
The total cost index for road goods transport increased by 0.2 per cent from December 2006 to January 2007. Over the last twelve months the total costs have increased by 3.5 per cent.
The fuel index has decreased by 2.8 per cent the last month. During the last year this index decreased by 2.8 per cent.
Higher capital costs
The index for capital costs increased by 3.4 per cent the last month, mainly due to an increase in the real interest rates. During the last twelve months this index, which is composed by depreciation and amortization, interest costs and annual fee, has increased by 9.5 per cent.
Increase in ferry costs
The index for ferry costs and road tolls increased by 1.8 per cent the last month, mainly due to a rise in ferry costs. During the last twelve months this index has increased by 2.0 per cent.
Increased insurance premiums
The insurance cost index increased by 1.1 per cent from December 2006 to January 2007, mainly due to adjustments in prices by some insurance companies. During the last twelve months this index has decreased by 1.6 per cent.
The other sub-indices show no change over the last month.
