Norwegian lorries carried 21.4 per cent more goods in the first quarter of 2007 than in the corresponding quarter 2006. The domestic transport of gravel, sand cement and similar compounds made most of the increase.
A total of 65 million tonnes of goods were transported, against 53.5 million tonnes in the first quarter 2006. Of this, 63.4 million tonnes were on domestic transports. The transport performance in national transports rose by 6.3 per cent to 4 billion tonne-kilometres.
