Average paid wages up 5.7 per cent
2 703 000 people received wages and remuneration in 2006, which is 63 000 more than in 2005. For all those that received paid wages and remuneration, the average was NOK 262 700 in 2006, an increase of 5.7 per cent from 2005.
Total wages and remunerations in cash amounted to NOK 710.1 billion in 2006. This is an increase of NOK 54.1 billion.
Disbursements of unemployment benefits decreased
119 000 persons received unemployment benefit in 2006, a decrease of 29 per cent from 2005. Total disbursements of unemployment benefit amounted to NOK 6.1 billion in 2006, a decrease of 36.1 per cent from 2005.
About the statistical basis
The statistics are based on preliminary figures from the register on End of the Year Certificates for the year 2006. This covers enterprises that are obligated by law to report to the register. |
