According to the Labour Force Survey (LFS), the Persons without income-producing work, but who have tried to obtain this over the last four weeks and are available for employment in the reference week or within the next two weeks are counted as unemployed. is now at about the same level as before the start of the Corona pandemic. We also see that the Persons who worked for pay or profit for at least one hour in the reference week, or who were temporarily absent from their work, because of for instance holidays or sick leave are counted as employed. has grown more than the unemployment has fallen. This means that persons who earlier were outside the labour force now are back at work.
Unemployment at 4.0 per cent
There were 115 000 unemployed persons in Norway in August. The last time the number was lower was in March 2020.
