Average rents are weighted and can therefore not be added up. Number of observations differ according to stratification. Average rent levels between years are not directly comparable since the survey is based on unique samples each year that can differ according to variables that are important for the rent level. Method changes in 2012 makes the figures less comparable with previous years. 'Urban settlements with more than 20,000 inhabitants' - Excluding Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim, Stavanger, and Akershus. 'Urban settlements with between 2,000 and 19,999 inhabitants' and 'Urban settlements with between 200 and 1,999 inhabitants and sparsely populated areas' - Excluding Akershus.
