core or support business function

Core business function: The primary activity of the enterprise, i.e. the activity that is directly related to production/value creation in the enterprise. Most employees in the enterprise have this activity as their main activity. Each enterprise has only one core business function.

Support business function: Other activities that are not directly related to the primary activity, but may affect or support the core business function. Each enterprise may have several support business functions.
