Fall in border transport

The amount of goods transported by lorry across the Norwegian border during the second quarter this year was 17.4 per cent lower than in the corresponding quarter last year. There has been a fall in the border transport for three quarters running.

A total of 2.7 million tonnes of goods were transported in and out of Norway on lorry during the second quarter of 2009. Of this, 44 per cent were carried by Norwegian lorries.

These figures cover goods transported by lorries passing the national border on road. Import and export by lorry on ferry is not included.
