Purpose of the survey

The purpose of this survey is to collect accounting information from Norwegian branches of foreign insurance companies. The information you supply will be used in financial market statistics as a part of the public statistics in the national accounts. The financial market statistics are important in forming of the Norwegian monetary policy. Data from this survey are also used in international reporting. The collected information can be used in computing of the fee to The Financial Supervisory Authority of Norway.

To complete the survey, you must report annual accounts, including the balance sheet as of 31th of December and the total comprehensive income statement. You must include a specified version of the balance sheet where the items are distributed by country.

All foreign insurance companies with a license from The Financial Supervisory Authority of Norway are obligated to report their annual accounts to Statistics Norway. Companies that already report by the Norwegian reporting system (FORT) are excepted. The reporting only covers the insurance companies' activity in Norway.
